Mold and Water Damage Restoration After Tree Causes Roof Damage to Home
After high winds from a storm caused a tree to fall on this Oxford, CT home, rainwater made it's way into the house and caused water damage. The tornado force winds caused widespread damage, leaving hundreds of homeowners across Connecticut in a similar situation.
When our crew arrived at the home to mitigate the damage, they discovered that mold had already begun to grow. Mold can grow within 24-48 hours of the initial water damage. Our team performed the water damage restoration, which consisted of removing wet and damaged materials from the home and using dehumidifiers and air movers to remove the water.
In order to contain the mold spores, decontamination chambers were set up in the affected areas. The team used air scrubbers and anti-microbial agents to lower the mold spore count down to safe levels.
