Stuff A Van Food Drive Flyer

It’s that time of year when we help the less fortunate during the holiday seasons. SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford and SERVPRO of Southbury/Torrington are proud to be doing a food drive, “Stuff a Van”.  We are collecting non perishable food from November 1st to November 18th for the Sterling House Community Center Food Pantry located at 2283 Main Street, Stratford, CT.

The food pantry provides food, Thanksgiving food baskets and other needs to families in Stratford and the Greater Bridgeport Area. They have been known to provide over 7,000 people with food not only for the holidays but throughout the year.

We have collections boxes placed in businesses around different locations that are helping collected food in their offices. On November the 18th, we have partnered with a located business, Curran Volkswagen, in Stratford, that we will doing a onsite food collection that day so that on November 20th, we can drive a vehicle full of food to Sterling House Community Center and deliver a van stuffed with food to the food pantry and help them provide meals for families in need.

Swinging Through the Stacks

Our local Woodbridge Town Library is holding a “Swinging Through the Stacks” on  Nov. 3rd & 4th.

We are sponsoring Hole 14 .

Parents and children can golf their way thru the library and see what interesting books, resources and programs are there for their learning and pleasure. Your community library can benefit all people. The American Library Association was formed in 1876. Public library services play a major role in fighting rising illiteracy rates among youths. Public libraries are protected and funded by the public they serve.

The “ stack” system  involves keeping a library's collection of books in a space separate from the reading room.  For more information visit http://www.woodbridge.lioninc.org/.

WAIP Breast Cancer Striders

SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford was proud to be a sponsor to the Waterbury Association Insurance Professional, the WAIP Striders who recently walked in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  Our own team member, Roseann Santamaria, walked with this awesome group who raised  $4,205 towards an event total of $57,000. Alongside Roseann and her team of 15 striders in her team was over 500 people who collaborated together to support this event.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer brings about awareness of breast cancer along with the efforts the American Cancer Society is doing to help save lives from this disease and the services it provides to patients and their caregivers.

SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford,  offers a big congratulations to WAIP Striders on a great accomplishment to a wonderful cause. Please visit this link for more info about the cause http://www.waiwctnaiw.org/

SERVPRO Ice Luge

SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford and SERVPRO of Southbury/Torrington recently had their second annual educational seminar and open house night for our local Woodbridge community, customers, and clients located at our headquarters at 232 Amity Rd in Woodbridge, CT.

The night kicked off with numerous tours of our  facility including the front office, meeting rooms, climate controlled storage facility, content cleaning assembly line, Ozone room and Drying chamber.  One amazing piece of equipment within our content cleaning assembly line is our Ultrasonics machine. This machine is amazing at removing soot particles from nooks and crannies found on small intricate content items. Some guests were even treated during a live demonstration to have their jewelry cleaned in our state of the art ultrasonic machine!

Once the tour was concluded all guests were invited to our vehicle and equipment storage area which was converted for the night to dining/dancing area. Amazing snacks and horsdeuvres were provided and even their own personalized pizza pies were provided.

Cold beverages and refreshments were provided and some even took the exciting challenge to cool off their own drinks down our custom designed Ice Luge that was a mock up of our company logo.

The night ended as an exciting and informative night of explaining and demonstrating our multiple fire and water damage restoration services.
