Happy New Year!

2018 was a landmark year for our company.
It marked the milestone ten year anniversary of franchise ownership for Greg Geaski. The restoration business is not an easy one and with ten years under his belt, Greg has shown that with hard work and good leadership, running a locally owned small business successfully is possible.
In February of 2018, Greg added a third franchise to his business with the purchase of SERVPRO of Newtown and Southern Litchfield County. Expanding the business to include the geographic areas of Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties presented some new challenges and we experienced the usual growing pains but at the end of the year, we can look back at a relatively smooth transition.
The acquisition also brought new additions to our staff and crew. Ted, Davi, Von and Junior all stayed with the company through the acquisition and are a valued part of our crew. Keri and Val also came with the merger as part of the office staff. We are thrilled to have so many “new to us” people who have decades of experience with SERVPRO on board.
It was a busy year with the purchase of a new franchise as well as the unusual storm and tornado events that hit the area last May. The flooding the storms caused and damage to roofs kept us working around the clock with water, storm and mold damage affecting thousands of homes and businesses in Connecticut. Yet, it wasn’t all work for the folks here at SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford.
We were able to continue our commitment to the community by sponsoring and participating in several charity events such as the Sterling Hill Golf Classic and Sterling House Community Food Drive, both of which raise funds for the Sterling House Community Center. We also had a blast at the Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals Golf Tournament at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield CT, which we sponsored. Several of our employees and their families have been affected by a cancer diagnosis this year, which makes our sponsorship of TeamBrent's St. Baldrick's Foundation Fundraiser, hosted by the Weston Westport Family YMCA and participation in the Discovery To Cure Beverly Levy Walk at Yale even more meaningful this year.
